Rocket Scientists’ 1993 debut CD, released by the band on their own label, straddles pop and progressive rock. Earthbound contains a faithful version of Pink Floyd’s Welcome to the Machine, and the greatest under-one-minute prog instrumental ever recorded. The songwriting and vocals are strong, including some vocals by Lana Lane, and there are lots of harmony vocals, something generally absent from Brutal Architecture. Progressive fans new to the band should start with one of their later albums. |
